Subject: Varicella Zoster Prophylaxis

Xin bổ túc thêm về V-Z prophylaxixs (current FDA and ACIP recommendation):
1. Localized Zoster ít truyền nhiễm hơn primary varicella trừ trường hợp bị sustained contact ( ở chung nhà...)
2. Người Mỹ sinh trước năm 1980 được coi là miền nhiễm. Người VN chắc là còn miền nhiễm hơn.
3. Immunocompetent patient: dùng varicella vaccine cho prophylaxis (2-5 days post-exposure). ACIP không recommend IG (VariZIG)
4. IG prophylaxis (3-10 days post-exposure) chỉ dùng cho immunocompromised patients, pregnant women hay infants.
5. Follow-up: up to 28 days. Nếu có triệu chứng thì chửa bằng Acyclovir hay các loại antivirals khác.
